Lunch Keynote: Empowering Inclusioneers - Breaking through Bias to Reach all Children

This keynote will engage participants in discussions related to key social justice issues that impact how we lead, serve, and interact with others. Implicit bias and how it manifests educational spaces will be presented. Daily acts of bias in schools and classrooms will be discussed as barriers to addressing racial equity. Strategies will be offered for identifying and responding to bias at the personal and interpersonal levels.

1. Participants will examine the frequency of early childhood and K-12 suspensions based on National data and state data.
2. Participants will define implicit bias.
3. Participants will identify acts of bias common in schools and classrooms.
4. Participants will practice strategies to interrupt bias as it occurs.
